Property developer Nick Candy sold his Grade II-listed two-acre Chelsea estate, Providence House, to an undisclosed buyer for more than £270 million - believed to be the most expensive single private home sale ever recorded globally, surpassing the previous record. The estate, situated within the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea on land once belonging to Britain's first Prime Minister Sir Robert Walpole, features a lake, underground swimming pool, and Georgian interiors. The property was never formally marketed but drew multiple offers. Christian Candy originally acquired the site at auction in 2012 for £75m; the deal represents a near-4x appreciation over 14 years.
