Ashtrom Properties UK acquires Retail World Gateshead from Ares for £105m

Ashtrom Properties UK acquired Retail World at Team Valley, one of Gateshead's largest retail parks, from Ares Management for £105m. At 391,000 sq ft, the park hosts over 30 retailers including major grocery, DIY, electronics, and sports brands. The acquisition reflects APUK's strategy to invest in high-performing regional retail parks at scale, following similar acquisitions elsewhere in the UK. Ashtrom Properties UK, the UK arm of Israel-headquartered Ashtrom Group, is a London-based private real estate investor focused on commercial property. Ares Management, the US alternative asset manager, was divesting the asset. Freeths acted as legal adviser to APUK. Financing details not disclosed. Advised by national law firm Freeths on the buyer side; BCM Chartered Surveyors advised the vendor on a separate Kingsbridge transaction noted in trade press.
